GAVIN DUNN, MD, PHD

Gavin is a neurosurgeon-investigator at the Massachusetts General Hospital where he leads the Brain Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy Program. Clinically, he specializes in the surgical management of patients with a wide range of brain tumors. His research program focuses on understanding the immune response to brain tumors and the fundamental basis of CNS immunobiology. His work on the “brain tumor immunity cycle” integrates the use of preclinical models, translational studies, and novel clinical trial protocols to gain insights into brain tumor immunogenicity, the nature of antigen presentation and antigen transit in the CNS, how to target brain tumor antigens, and meningeal immunobiology. He is a former Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Clinician-Investigator and current Cancer Research Institute Lloyd J. Old STAR awardee.
